Nah I have allot of fathe in our system of goverment... IF someone turns loose of trillions of bucks you can rest assured that the polititions will scarff up every cent before it trickels down as far as the low income people ! .... it'll take YEARS to get down that far because it has to get by too many thieves!... and they will find a way to get their hands on it... after all thats what they do !
...
Personally I think Obama will have one heck of a hard time getting anything done because he has to fight, the house and senit.   Jimmy Carter was elected under the same kind of setup and congress ham strung him so bad he never accomplished a thing... unless this guy is realy realy Smart the same thing will take place... I dunno its going to be interesting to see the furr fly ! cuz change is what this country needs but what 90 % of the people don't want... change it over there...not here !
he stands as good a chance as a Fart in a windstorm.... but its better than more of the same I guess!
... We shall see...
we shall see !

Excellent analysis, It will probably be a couple of years before much at all if anything changes (Bush's stuff don't run out till 2010). Nothing like a few bouts to keep the politicians steppin and fetchin.

There's a few problems with all of it.  Yes, typically it would take a couple of years for the new Pres to get around to changing anything.  Some of that has to do with expirations of the previous pres' stuff, some has to do with actually getting things written, and then some of actually convincing Congress to follow your lead.  The only thing Obama has to deal with is expirations.  You know damned well that all them other wackos already have things printed out and ready for signature.  There's enough wackos I don't agree with to put enough pressure on the sane people I don't agree with to get things passed now.  No more guns (nevermind that the Supreme Court agrees that the Constitution has more authority than a socialist), and expect 'green' to become mandatory, no matter the cost.  It'll be government funded, so they'll need more of your money to fund it.  And by government funded I do in fact mean inefficient.  It'll waste more energy than it produces and will cause more problems than it solves, but that's okay, because it's green energy.

Now, I have a lot of faith in our system too.  It's a great system, and when the rules are followed as our Fore-Fathers wrote them, all is well.  We stopped following the Constitution when Article 13 was passed.  And we never looked back.  After big brother bailed us out of the Great Depression with things like the TVA (pay you to work, good idea) and welfare (pay you to watch others work, bad idea), the general public has refused to get weened off the bottle.  It started off as just a few people, but has grown ever sense.  Now we're trying to get 'government healthcare'.  It'll be the biggest cluster chuck since Iran-Contra.  Canadians come to America for decent healthcare.  Yes, their preventative system works fine.  That's just scheduling.  But anything requiring a specialist puts you on a list 3 years long.  Too bad the doc only gave you 6 months to live.

Oh, and you have to go to the preventative.  Or go to jail.  Clinton's idea.  Yeah, that's a free society alright.

My post can go on and on about how screwed we all are, but half of you think I'm nuts and the other half agree already, so it's wasted energy.  The short rant sure felt good though.  Thank you.

Cowboy:
If you look too close it makes you sick to the stomach ! if you try to fix it they arrest you!
if you try to leave the country , no other country will have you unless you have a bankroll of money.
so whats a fella supposed to do ?
Don't take it too seriously or it will eat you alive ! its all a great big joke...
... and the joke is on us !...
..
our country has one of the Widest social views in the world... one guy will addmantly state that all jews should be deported, and argue with you for an hour as to why he is right...
the next guy will say its ok to make it open season on law breakers, just shoot'em all and he'll tell you why in a weeks sermon !
the next guy will declare all blacks should not have any rights and should be devided among the whites as slaves, because their not realy people.
with a wide outlook such as this it is amazeing ANYTHING Gets done at any time !
the people we elect to go to the head of the class and run the country are no diferent than any joe on the street, (although most would argue that) we have been brain washed into thinking Oh hes a senator
and therefore must be real smart... but their not, their just avrage people with above avrage jobs
and to expect the avrage person to fix the BS  that is wrong with this country is a sivear stretch of the amagnation... not only do they not know how, they don't even know whats wrong !
...
this is the country of Dirvirsity.... there is more views pulling in diferent directions than ever before and it will continue...
One guy thinks that we should charge everyone 17% of their income as income tax and have the goverment control everything, and the next guy thinks 1% income tax is far too much because the goverment makes billions off of businesses... they don't NEED our money, they just want it !
while all the time more laws are being made by good, well intentioned people to take away any freedome that is left to us....
Once a law in in effect it never goes away... why is that? shouldn't laws have an experation date on them ? my drivers liscnses does !....
its not about fairness or whats right... its what they can do and get away with... its a new age !
God help our childern ! ...
hehehe oooh well to each their own !
...
hay how did this turn into a Goverment venting thred anyway !?
we don't need this,... all it does is remind ya and make ya mad !
 hehehehehe
...
Sorry guys !

People do, but they're stupid.  I have one word to support my claim.  Ethynol.  Wink

Game over, I win.  Cheesy

But I agree with Randy's post.
And Bob's.

I think we need to fire everybody in D.C., scratch all of the laws passed over the last 50 years, and re-read the Bill of Rights.  Understand them all as they are written and start over.  The system is great, it's the passiveness of the public that has messed it up.  The Gov reports to us, not the other way around.  The GDP needs put back into the market, not into elected officials pockets (or contractors, or closed door meetings, or what-not).  I love this country and will defend it with my last breath, but man does society need to wake up and ACTIVELY participate.  Don't believe the news, no matter what channel you watch.  Always research, always question.  But, that requires effort that entirely too many people don't put into life anymore.  I'm friends with several people that disagree with me politically and that's just fine.  It gives us something to discuss and get our minds to thinking more.  But it's the 'undecided' and other popular opinion followers that bother me.  People in other countries worry about their entire family getting slaughtered if they vote, or even if they don't vote for the current person in charge, and they still vote for what they believe to be right.  Not because of what the media tells them.

I'm all about differing opinions.  It's what makes us so great.  But I know several people that voted this year on emotion rather than thoughts and it bothers me.  They voted that way on both sides, and for similar reasons.  I despise that, and I let them know, but they're biggots and stuck in their ways as all biggots are.  I dunno.  I guess I'm just disgruntled with the laziness that general society has fallen into.  At least the people on this forum know what that thing is between their ears and have chosen to use it.  Cheesy

Awww come on Cowboy, just hookup the hho and go.Just think of the mileage data you can collect on the round trip. Not to mention that just to the north and the south of the expo are some of the best beaches and fishing areas in the world.Just tell the wife that your taking her on one the best vacations she's ever had.

O well it sounded good when I was typing it,if she's anything like my wife I'd be getting the look(and you know what I mean)after saying something like that.LOL

Wish you guys could make out,I know we'd have a good time of it.Who knows maybe the next one is coming to a town near you,I hope so.

HAHAHA !
I got into AMWAY way back when I had fathe in humanity <grin> and Our Distribiture talked me into going to this hudge rally thing....  well I went and instead of being inspired like he wanted I was so out of place it was silly... every one dressed in their finest attire, well groomed and what not... me in my jeans and dress shirt ... ( I don't pretend to be anything I am not for anyone!)  listening to some of the speakers was fun actually, and I sat next to Jerry our distribiture the entire 2 hours... and after one guy I realy liked ( main reason I went) was through O'l Jerry leaned over and said Now Bob can't you see yourself on that stage giveing a speach like that ? and I laughed and said NO... he said sure ya can!  you could do that !.... and I gave that allot of thought... to me it was a challenge to do something I had Never wanted to do...ever... but it was not to be, sails were down and as usual every one faded away and so did I.... but I remember the Ralley and How rediculas it was... a bunch of people getting togather to spur others on and flaunt their success... that was the entire purpose of the thing
and sense I had never been to a big rally type thing it was all new to me... I had no idea that all it was was to make me want to go out and sell Amway products so I could be up there on that stage too... HAHAHAH  so I was more than discusted... I had wasted a full day from 7am to 10pm going to that thing and Jerry spent $50.00 to get me into the thing! ... I though what a crock of Cr-- that was!
...
and another big thing I went to was a Boat show in San Fransisco... back in the 1980's More people than you can shake a stick at and then some... but I did see some nice boats... but the prices were so scary as to make me rethink my idea of sailing around the world ! even if I built my own boat, which I later attempted (a Bruce Roberts 341 double ender motor sailer) the mooring fees are so high as to make it impossable to do...period !  like airplanes its an excluseive playground, not one for poor folk!
...
so I have came to the conclusion that BIG ralleys and meetings and big shows are a comercial venture designed to seperate you from your money... and sense I have no money to spare I don't bother going to them... even ones I realy like ...Like Gyrocopters and Motorcycles shows... I would go to a gyrocopter show if one came to town here but only to get ideas for My gyro <GRIN>
and Motorcycle shows.... nah I have a BIG BIKE! so whats the point.
... I have gone to some O'l time-fairs that were fascinating! and will go to them again ! they displayed super old I.C.Engines and tractors and all kinds of neet stuff ...but its just to look around
.... something to do if you have nothing else to do...
well now days, I have too many things to do, and things I can't put off any longer I have to do NOW.
so I stay busy all the time, I realy don't have much spare time if I realy get with the program and get off my butt and start getting things done!...HAHAHAHAHA..
So... I don't leave the property unless I have to... I like this place, thats why I bought it...
why would I want to leave it ?... the Ranch is the same way, so when I move there it'll be the same way
... goint to town is like Pulling teeth, I'ed rather stay at home and putter around the house and get things done than waste my time in town...
.... call me a Mountian man or a Un-sociable Missfit, if ya want but I don't need People contact like others do...
I enjoy it here on the net because we have the best of both worlds we can trade Ideas and joke around and not have to go anywhere ! HAHAHHAHA
...

Yeah,  the Net. Where would we be without it.  Not here yacking to each other (a bunch of strangers really) in places thousands of miles apart;  instantly.  Makes you think how far we have come.

Once,  a while back I was involved in a conversation at work.  On guy asked ' who are your friends?' Another said' mostly a bunch of people with strange names that live in cyberspace' .  I guess that about sums it up.  We're global.
