Bob, did you see the episode where the built a gassifier?
I seemed to power a generator ok.
Idea's maybe.

no I haven't...
 never watched them at all actually.

A gassifier ? that's a Wood gas generator ! and yah they work very well
... I built one that's in the back of my old Dodge pickup right now.... but I haven't made a successful run with it ....I need 2 things   a larger fan for the blower ... and allot of dry wood... it "SHOULD" work ok as it is.... it needs a Cooler for it to drop the gas tempiture... and my filter Cans are completely empty.
... it seams the boys on the "Woodgas" site are using a 12v powered vacuum cleaner as a blower or a shop vac running on an inverter.  finding a strong enough blower is very hard
... my pipe size is only 3" ...should be 4" so I need the blower even more than most!

the "Planet Mechanics" had some real good episodes on it too... I don't think there was a single episode that wasn't great! from home made windmills to Wood Gassifiers on a small truck to hydroelectric power !
twas a real neat program !

 I'll have to watch the "Rocket city Rednecks" next time I see them on ! <grin>
