Another reason to quit using gasoline completely ! use Hydroxy gas ! Make your own fuel!
even if you only go 50/50 look how much money you'll save by not buying 50% of your gasoline?
and you can do that in a diesel ! its not just for petrol powered vehicles !
I read where a Cummings diesel was converted to run 25% diesel and 75% hydrogen (not hydroxy gas)
and the beast ran fantastically! (and is still being used!....constantly!)

 No it is a 18 wheeler used to haul a trailer of welding gas/bottles  they have a readily available supply of hydrogen and decided to put it to use... they figured the Diesel was eating them alive, and the hydrogen was super cheap sense they produced it as well as acetylene oxygen , argon and co2...
but they can't produce the Diesel but they did the next best thing... dilute down the Diesel with hydrogen and that's what they did ....they have a distributor ship and about 15 to 20 trucks this was the first test version and they plan to do all the rest in their fleet as time permits...
they didn't give any more particulars on how they did it at all though ...darn it!
I read the article while waiting on the wife in the Dr. office a few months back!

Many years ago I worked for an engine reconditioning firm in Bradford.  The had a large batch of Perkins 3 cylinder diesels that were part of a frustrated export order.  They were set up to run on LPG.  It's so far gack (about 50 year) that I can't remember the  details.

As they had a precombustion chamber type head (Ricardo swirl chamber) I assume that the Diesel injector was replaced by some kind of gas injector.

Maybe the Cummings engine mentioned has a gas injection into the manifold and a reduced Diesel injection system.  Pretty much like has to be done when trying to run hydroxy.
