Randy, do you think your superior output is due to the round shape of the plate
or do you think it doesn't matter?
I'm thinking that it does matter,  with my junk output anyway.

I don't think the shape of the plate should matter, even spacing, dialing in the cell for the amount of amp draw wanted, good clean running electrolyte, larger then required wire with all terminals soldered, good power supply. Personally I haven't had much luck with neutral plates, so I've stuck with parallel designs.

I agree completely with Randy... if that matters  <grin>
the way you discribe your cell it should work much better...
perhaps you left out a detail or two on the discription that would really change
things ...but I doubt it.
....
personally I think its your POWER and possably the electrolyte..... not the cell
...
I have seen where cells do not put out but 1/4LPM before but the VTOM test if done would have shown the problem.... the insulators used were black rubber gas line and that gas line has resistance through it... there was like 50ohms between each plate and between the terminals... he changed out the black gas line for clear vinyl hose and that cured the problem... his cell was square plates as yours is but the spacing was 1/8" all plates were in parallel and it put out 1.75LPM at 25 amps... not the best but it did work fairly well.... he was quite happy!
