why don't people just go over to the chemical reaction using lye water and aluminum and scrub the gas with vinegar? I understand it's hard to control the reaction but I think it could be done. I saw a reaction chamber that had an inner chamber that was surrounded by water, this kept the water cool because most of the reaction happened in the middle. The chemical reaction seemed to create much, much more hydrogen that we can get out of our generators and it uses no electricity. I would think that we could fill the inner reactor with aluminum and and have a small pump fill the reactor with the electrolyte when the vehicle is started then when the vehicle is turned off an electronic valve would open and drain out the electrolyte and possibly even spray in some neutralizer of some sort to stop the reaction. If the reaction could be controlled in this manner then all we would have to do is add aluminum occasionally and keep a reservoir of electrolyte handy, this would use just negligible amounts of power with virtually no drain on the engine. What do you think? What am I missing?

Hi ED !
its a good idea , but one problem I can see is the availability of Aluminum for the reaction...
the Hydrogen generators that they used to fill blimps up with in the old days used TONS of aluminum scrap....getting even a few pounds for a full tank would be more expensive than gasoline...
in the end its trading one "Limited Resource" for another Limited Resource"....so your really not gaining anything in the process...
we can at least generate electricity for free by using Solar or wind technology.... that can be used to create HHO by electrolysis which is virtually then free...
.... Making Hydrogen Chemically has many other considerations as well, like unwanted by products.... the nasty Hydrochloric acid needed to dissolve aluminum to make Hydrogen goes completely around water and its abundant source, and other gasses such as Cyanide (I think it is) are present in that gas.
so its not pure Hydrogen by any means.
....
Personally I think Our best bet is the Arc reactor for splitting apart water in large volumes!

Hi Bob, I agree with with most of what you say but I saw a video of a chemical generator that used about the equivalent of a soda can of aluminum and it was still going strong 2hrs later to me that's not a lot of aluminum, I have a big family and we have a large supply of aluminum cans every week. I'm just trying to get away from all the maintenance  of the electric cells with their high current draws PWM's and and other necessary equipment. I'd love to try a couple of Randy cells but I haven't had any luck making them myself and I can't find anyone that cells them.

Well Ed...
first off you don't have to have a PWM ... and if you run Koolaid & Distilled water...you don't have to clean it but once a year....
as far as the amps go it simply takes allot of amps to put out allot of HHO.... there is no way around that part....
...
but if you have a regular auto chances are you have enough spare amps to run at least 2 randy cells
...
I  won't make the Randy cells for you , their hard enough for me to make but with the new stacking method  Randy came up with its easier than the shims by far...

who knows Maybe Randy would sell ya a Randy cell Mk1 for  80~100 bucks....  ask him , who knows!
...
for the hours going into a Randy cell I wouldn't offer him less than that ... it takes me 6 to 8 hrs to make just one cell.... that's gott'a be worth something ! LOL
...
for the price on the net I have seen he could ask $200.00 each and get it !  $100 for 1LPM and the Randy cell puts out 2LPM...
...
you might give him a PM (personal message) here on the site  its real easy to do .
