Would anyone be interested in taking over Hydroxyhut.com ?
the reason I ask is My wife should be retireing from work soon and our income is going to drop sharply because of it and I am going to have to cut way back on my spending...  that may even include keeping this site going...
...
the site takes about $20.00 a month plus the domain name....that has to be paid every once in a while
.... all in all its just too expensive for me to pay for even though it is such a good source of information for Hydroxy generation stuff....
...
So I am looking for someone that might be interested in taking the site over....
if not it may well have the plug pulled and be no more.
...
if your interested , please post here !
and I'll get ya all the info I can in taking it over... ( I'll get my Kid to tell me! )
LOL
...

Bummer, If I had the time, got another 11 years to retirement, maybe see if you can get donations to keep it going.

well nothing is definite yet... so I dunno what will happen but just in case I'd like to have some options other than just Killing the site.
...
I'll Never ask for donations... Period. I'd rather kill the site than that!
I was a member of a site one time that the owner was constantly bugging the members for anything...
and it was a constant irritant.
its Not that expensive  to maintain... but when you add up all my internet expenses it adds up to close to $110.00 a month.... and I never had the intention of it getting that high !
when You add $89.00 a month for sat/internet and then add the $20.00 a month for domain names of which we have 3... (but the other 2 are much cheaper) and then what ever I'm charged by Pair network on top of that.... ( I know they are not happy just charging me once... they charge me mutable times!)
anyway it adds up...  and IF My wife's disability goes through because of her arthritis,  her take home will be cut in half to 1/4.... making things mighty difficult to do anything.
She took a month off to go into the hospital a while back and we haven't recovered from that yet!
... so its looking a bit iffy for the future of my internet! LOL
...
if I do have to shut this site down I'll try to give you guys a warning so you can copy all the pics and stuff before they go POOF !
....
As far as Time... this site takes very little time.  I check it about 3 times a day usually
and try to kill the "BOT Advertisements" as fast as I can and Ban the user... that doesn't stop them it just slows them down. <GRIN>
I haven't had a "Bot attack" for about 3 weeks ... so it doesn't happen too often

I can host the site if you like on my own server. It has been running since 2003 rock solid. The link below shows when my site first went online dec 31, 2003, and has been ever since.

http://www.whois.net/whois/truckplace.com

I have enough bandwidth and disk space available, no issues there. I also host an International Harvester fan club through my hosting as well. Won't cost you a thing for the hosting. You can keep ownership of the actual domains if you like, just point them to my server, or you can transfer the names to me if you like and I can pay for that...I get domain registration at a discount. If you keep the domains registered under you, you will still technically own the site.

If you create a backup of the forum and send me the link to download said backup, I can restore the backup on my server for a seamless integration. (I was into computer programming/web design before getting tired of the cubical and becoming a diesel mechanic)

humm Ok Brad ! thank you for that !
we'll see what happens in the near future... My wife told me the other day that the doc told her that she should be able to retire next month.  That is good news for us  but her income will be Half of what it now is...  hard to say whats going to happen right now
I do greatly appreaciate your Offer...I really do  ...REALLY !
as I am concerned about leaving the site hanging, I don't want to do that at all. anything is better than that !
...
but lets give it some time and see what happens... I may be all concerned over nothing, who knows!

That's not a problem. My offer is good for practically ever, you won't have to go offline. You can have your own ftp account and everything so it will be about the same as you have now. I rented a huge server in anticipation that my site would take off, but I have never been able to use all of it, although I keep renewing the server. Doesn't cost all that much anymore as I have been able to get it discounted over the years (let's just say I pay less than you do now!). I have loaned out server space to many people in the past, but nearly all of them have flopped on their own accord. It is hard to break a site into the mainstream on the net nowadays.

we'll see what happens and I am grateful for the option...THANK YOU !
