Salmon-----fishing, I love salmon fishing, gotta get my fishing stuff ready, lets see, fishing reel, fishing line, fishing pole holder, fish bait, fishing lures, fishing boat, fish hooks, fish hook file, fish finder, fishing tackle box. Yep I'm ready. I usually don't start until mid march though. Been popping on here regularly and reading pretty much everything, just haven't had anything new or good to add, been building moulds for a new product using about all my spare time. Keep waiting to hear that you got that barbecue powered truck going hahahaha, sawmill too, whatcha gonna do burn dimensional fuel?, you sound busier then a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. been working on that bigger "more washers" cell occasionally, I'm really optimistic about this one, not even going to hook it up until I have that axillary alternator installed, it will be totally dedicated to the cell, just gotta get the time to do it.

Oh Ok then .... just making sure your not asleep at the switch ! LOL !
so what ya doing with the big cell ? how many plates and what configuration ?
same as the Mk I , just more Washers.....or what ?
...
sounds like a good move to make the Alternator dedicated to the cell only... I'd have to come up with another crank pulley to do that... this one only has 2 v belts in it and both are used already.... I might could get a longer belt for the water pump and then make a bracket for the block and all that ... but as you say... I'm DEFINITELY busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest! HAHAHAHAH
in fact I be moving faster than a frog in a frying pan !
my Bar-B-Q Truck is coming along fine... should fire it up some time soon...
I'm waiting for better weather... I don't want my Fresh Charcoal to get rained on...
the hopper has a lid and all and its all water tight but I am sure it will suck up moisture like a sponge !
I couldn't get my chain saw started so I dug out the old Homelite and fired it up...
man that saw is heavy in comparison ! HAHAHAHA
....
glad to hear your Lures are still selling.... whats the name of your web site again ?
 I can't remember it !
....
and do you remember where you got that Alternator Kit ? the Link Huh?
....
stay out'a trouble my friend ! <GRIN>

Bob and Randy,
I wish I could hibernate! I've been on vacation for the past 2 weeks and all I've done is pull neighbours ot of the mud and snow. It's been the most awful vacation ever! But I have been talking on the radio and even on 15 meters which is usually dead to me. The wind turbine is working great. I'm puttin up an anemometer today that I got in kit form from Inspeed.com. That should give a more accurate wind speed indicator. So, what are you guys up to? I don't know what I did but I haven't been getting notifies on the new posts.

....
Its been raining so hard for so long, I think I'm getting webbed feet!
LOL !
so I haven't done much, between down pours I've fell a bunch of trees, I had to dig out the old Homelite and get it working, man that new light chainsaw has spoiled me  the homelight is a heavy o'l beast ! LOL ! I'm sore all over ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Not much happening in my neck of the woods.  Here in the UK we are still in this long (for us) lingering winter.
Due to a medical problem (heart attack about three years ago) I have to make sure I don't get cold. So if I go in the shed I have to watch for the 'inverse boiled-frog' syndrome. You know the one;  where you gradually get really cold but don't notice it. Could be fatal.  I tell you guys,  don't get old. It's not what it's cracked up to be. Grin

Boy I hear that ! When I was growing up I couldn't wait to be older so people would take me seriously !
LOL... Now that I'm Older... nobody does anyway ! HAHAHAHA!
never herd of the "Reversed boiled frog syndrome"... but I know one thing, I wouldn't wish a hart attack on my worst enemy, yet alone people I like ! HEHEHEHE their nothing to fool around with !
My Step Dad died of "Congestive hart failure", and I thought modern medicine was able to fix that...
come to find out just about ANY hart condition except high blood pressure, (and sometimes not even that)
...that there's nothing they can do for ya !... I was very surprised!
but you have to look at it this way, if the old folks didn't die off, the hate and discontent they would cause would be sure to cause world war 3.... and then some !  how could the goverments cope with
millions of people over 100years old !?!?!? the old folks would say AIN'T NO WAY to higher taxes and laws and crap that they impose upon us from birth on.... we have to die off or the revolution would be so bloody as to leave only a few humans left on the planet !   because we know what real freedom is...
the younger generations don't...., they think they do... but just because they have to pay taxes and licenses and fees and such don't mean nuttin' to them.... when I was growing up, I said many times "don't trust anyone over 30years old !" .... boy did I have it wrong... its not the age its the stupidity level ! <GRIN>
...
Oh well, think of Life as a Learning experience... and if you haven't learned a thing, you failed!
in that regard we all Pass ! <GRIN>
...
I just wish I'd learned how to be Wealthy ! but then I'd have all those problems of spending Money
so I suppose its better this way ! HAHAHAHHAHAHA
...some people are content in their poverty I guess! <GRIN> but it don't mean I have to "LIKE" it!
LOL

Manta and Bob,
I an't no youngster by any means of the stretch of the imagination (61). I had a bad case of walking nemonia years ago and now I can't stand the cold  either. I gotta keep my house around 65 degrees at least or I don't sleep well at night. If  I get a chill it's all over, I'll be sick for weeks. 'inverse boiled-frog' syndrome' puts it nicely I think. Bob, I think that is why the world is in such dire straights today because people are living longer! How many happy oldesters do you know. Most of us are griping and complaining about something all the time. Government job people should be forced to retire at age 40. All we need is a bunch of grumpy old people making decisions for us.

hehe When I was younger, about 28 or so I was trying to make a living in Montana by pealing logs by hand at a log home company... hard work for little pay as usual but it was the Only work there.
push came to shove and I didn't have that much gas money so I decided to ride my motorcycle to work
with 4" of snow on the ground and at 14 degrees.... the bike wasn't the problem... the cold was!
I got to work and thawed out for about an hour and then went and pealed 4 logs and that was all I had in me .... I warmed back up and headded home and arived there so cold I barely could get off the bike...  if my wife hadn't had the fire going real good I think I would have flat died from exposure!
I couldn't feel my arms or legs anymore and I couldn't open my hands for hours....
that was the coldest I ever got in my life... and I don't want to do that again!
from then on I seam to notice the cold more than I used to ....
...
while in Florida I got so blasted hot I quit sweatting and got tunnel vision ...3 times that happened and I told the boss to shove it ! LOL
now I get the least bit too hot I start getting tunnel vision and have to set down or fall down...
...and here at the ranch it gets to be 120degrees in the shade in the summer some times....
man I hope I'm acclimitized for this comeing summer ! LOL !
...i am not looking foward to cooking in the sun... but a bit less rain would sure be NICE !
HAHAHAHAHHA

Looks as if were all in the same boat.

Bob,
In case you haven't heard of the boiled frog syndrome it goes like this.

If you drop a frog into very hot water,  it will jump straight out. But if you drop it into cold water then slowly heat up the water it will stay there until it boils to death.  It doesn't notice the slow increase until it is too late.

The way cold can creep upon you is similar.

It happens in my shed frequently if I'm busy.  Got to be careful. Grin

make yourself a small coffee can heater for your shed Manta ! or a 9 brick heater they work great and put out allot of heat !
My shop is un-heated as well, so I stay out of it when its cold... right now its the domain of a pack of Raccoons and they have really tore up the shop...everything that was on a shelf is now on the floor! and some of those boxes were quite heavy too !...heheheheh the monsters! it will take me 6 months to clean it all back up !
I have a propane heater for the shop but I haven't used it... one of those that are infrared burners that attach to a 5 gal bottle...  I suppose if I wanted something to do I could fire it up and clean up the shop sense its raining !.... that sounds like a good idea actually !
weeee what fun ! BAH !
...
I've herd of that frog thing but never associated it with what you were talking about hehehe sometimes I'm really slow ! DUH!
hehehehehe
And I agree with ya TINK ! ...just what we need is a bunch of grumpy old men with narrow minds making desigens for all of us.... it seams as people get OLDER their views narrow to a point to where they say its My way or the Highway!   I can understand that now that I am OLD myself, but it like all things should be tempered with MODERATION! you can't apply those views to ALL things and that just doesn't penetrate most of the Politicians at all ! they come to believe that their views, as outlandish as they may be, ARE the views of the general public...and that is simply self delusion!
nothing could be further from the truth! and they look so surprised when they are confronted with it!
LOL.
Keeping an OPEN mind is Paramount as you grow older... as hard as it may be sometimes... other wise your views on things get warped out of shape by your own ideas of right and wrong.
what gets me .... is if I know that , why doesn't our senators and congressmen ?
the best guys I have met yet are people in the Law enforcement field....  good well meaning people
but strangely enough even they get "Jaded" as we used to call it and they get to the point that its by the book REGARDLESS of the circumstances.... and that defies logic when you consider that they are there to HELP...not hinder the public... <GRIN>
Personally I have never seen the inside of a Jail.... nor do I want to !<grin>  and I suppose if the officers did actually go by the book I would have ! Riding my bike without Licenses etc, etc.
so I have allot to be thankful for <GRIN>
...
but its continuing to follow that path.... more "by the book Regardless of the circumstances"
on everything.... from car registration to building codes, from returning defective items at the store you bought it at, to mandatory Insurance.... and we have our Society as a Whole to thank for that... good meaning people that have Sh** for brains, and think "there should be a LAW......." Without thinking it all the way through!...and the strange part of it all is we are ALL guilty of it !.... Unfortunately !
I read somewhere that by the year 2020 there will be so many laws on the books that every possible law...good or BAD will be on the books somewhere... if that's the case then NOT following the letter of the law is even MORE important!  just because its in print means nothing! because their ALL in print!  only the good laws should be followed... but how do you make the distinction? My ideas or your ideas ?   neither will work.... for others... that's WHY we have the system we have NOW...
but its So OBVIOUS that it doesn't work in all cases.... and its going to get much worse because
when ALL laws are treated as GOSPEL truth ( and they will!) you can be arrested for anything!
because ALL laws will be on the books ! .... this is very Ominous ! and what we have to look forward to.... I hope the enforcers of the law are more reasonable in the future than they have been in the past.... if not we are headed for a much tougher policed state!
people who have been Law abideing citizens all their life will find themselves going against the law.... simply because there are too many LAWS !
...
what we need to do is repeal all laws back to 1890 and freeze law making !
...
....but some one would say OK, but lets make an "exception" to building codes...because its a safety issue!  .... it needs to be all or Nothing, or it won't work ! then America will once again be a free nation... but till that day we are stuck !
....
My 2 coppers worth !

Manta and Bob,
I've been using those high powered aultra-sound devices under my house turned up full blast to sound like a rattle snake and it keeps all but the little cotton tail rabbits out. These things cost $40 but well worth it! They might work in your sheds. Don't know why the cotton tails are imune to them but they don't do any dammage anyway. It's those darn rats that tear up everything and they stay far away from these things and the snakes too.
Gotta go...

humm i wonder if it'd work here to run off snakes.... we have a serious Rattle snake problem here....
always have, had we kill at least 2 every year.... but for the first 3 years it was like 5 or 6
we've only lost one dear pet to the darn things, but I try very hard to eliminate their presence when ever I can.
I have no doubt that if My wife ever got bit by a rattle snake the shock alone would probably kill her... she is deathly afraid of snakes !
...
When I was a Kid there was no such thing as RATS here on the Ranch.... feild mouse sure even Kangraroo mice... but Ground squirels were the biggest diggers we had and they didn't get into the house.... Now sense the neighbors moved in about 20 years ago there are RATS all over the place !
they came with them I suppose, hitching a ride as is their nature! heheheheh
Mom lived here without Cats and the Rats were actually taking over the place... its taken about a year now, but I think between the Cats and my trapping them we got'em ! ....
the problem is I think the neighbor is Shooting my cats ! the SOB ! if I catch him doing it there is going to be war !.... cats roam and there's nothing you can do to stop them from doing it...so I guess if they wander on to his place he can shoot them legally ... but talk about STUPID ! the cats get RATS their our friends ! not our enemy! I wonder what he is thinking ?....
more than Likely worried about the cats Killing squirrels.... and I admit, they do that on occasion
not very often but they do! ...   we had 27 cats at our place in Shingletown at one time and we still had squirrels at the feeder ! heheheheh!
feeding stray cats makes MANY.. MANY...MANY MORE CATS! hehehe
...
My question is how do you keep critters OUT OF A GARDEN ?   we have tried chicken wire, they go under it....or over it... Hog wire and chicken wire, (the same) even buried half the chicken wire, so they couldn't go under then they climbed the bloody fence!... (I watched them do it !)
we finally moved the garden close to the house and left the dog loose at night... that worked very well... but at times we'ed find him flaked out in the raddishes where its cool ! HAHAHA
but with all the Cyotes here that's a risky proposition unless you have a very smart dog! because they will bait a dog out then nail him.
our dog was smart when Cyotes were near, he was on the front porch wanting in ! LOL
I dunno if I'll get a garden in this year or not, probably not but next year I probably will...
gott'a cut back on the food bill somehow!
....
.... We used to have a bunch of Cotton tails around here, but lately all I've seen is Jack rabbits.
...
we went into town and did some shopping fer food... spent $198.00 on food...most We've spent in YEARS
LOL.... but I'm tired of being Hungry darn it! HAHAHAHA!

...
I haven't had to fight any SNOW at all so far this year... HAHAHA I am really liking this LOWER elevation ! HA !

Luckily we don't have snakes in the UK.  Well,  maybe a few Adders in the warmer parts,  but nothing where I live in the North. Just as well as they make my skin crawl.  I stayed in Zimbabwe for a while back in the eighties, and was offered a house very cheap. One of the locals told me why it was so cheap;  the place was crawling with Cobras.

I also hope to get something growing in the garden this year.  Last year was a disaster. Even if it's only potatos and beans it will all help. We have been warned that we are in for a possible 25% increase in gas and electric prices in the near future.  Time to get serious about alternative energy.

Catch you all later.
