Howdy All.
Here is a Pic of my Very first Hydroxy generator
its kind'a like looking at a Dinosaur to me now
but I am sure it will bring a smile to some faces out there <GRIN>
...
This Cell was a Dismal Failure ! it drew Way too much amprage and
only produced 1/4LPM .
I desided to try fewer Plates and test it each time to see what the results were... the test was very interesting.
with the electrolite adjusted each time to aprox 10amps this is the results ( as best I can remember, amperage might be off a bit)
24 plates 15amps(aprox) 1/4LPM
20 plates 10amps        1/4LPM and a tiny bit more
15 plates 11 amps       1/2LPM
10 plates 10 amps       3/4LPM
8 plates  15 amps       1/4LPM maybe a bit less
12 plates 12 amps       3/4LPM and a bit less
....so the best plate number was 10 plates when drawing 10 amps
and this told me that it wasn't the number of plates but the AMPS
I was pushing if I had 50 amps to pump into the 24 plate cell to begin with it should have produced a great deal of Hydroxy gas !
Unfortionatly  All I had was a battery and a 10 amp charger that automatically cuts down to trickle charge.( I now have my Dads Big 30 amp charger hehehehehe!)
...
sense the plates in this "Stacked Cell" are actually in Parallel
the voltage stays the same on each plate but the Amperage is divided among the number of plates... at the time I calculated the best number of amps per plate and found it to be somewhere around 1.35 amps per plate....so if you figure 2 amps per plate you should have room to play with in your adjustments.
I already Knew that it only takes 1.24 VDC to operate the plate
at top efficiency, anything over that just goes into makeing heat.
so this was good info.
....it served as a great learning tool even if it didn't produce gas worth a darn ! <GRIN>

Is it possible that an odd number of plates will be better ?
Anyone tried this ?

Well,Actually , I learned from Randy's experiments He had a "Randy Cell" in a cup
and played with the plate number till he got the best results
it turned out that having a positive plate on both ends produces more gas than it otherwize would... about 1/4LPM more if memory serves me correctly...
a substancial amount anyway, so I try to keep a positive plate on each end now because of that
...
