So far I have Accumulated a List of things that are a MUST HAVE
on any Hydroxy Generator...
they are...
1. A Bubbler (see bubbler construction in the Generator construction thread)

2. A fuse or Circuit breaker in line to the generator

3. an on-off switch on the dash of the car so you can turn it off immediately should you feel the need!

4. a Pop off Cap on both the Generator and the bubbler

5. a Constant use Relay hooked to the ignition circuit that turns the Hydroxy cell on and off with the ignition switch. THIS IS A MUST!
otherwise you may forget and blow yourself and your car up!

6. don't depend on a "Flame arrester" to stop a probragateing Flame
in hydroxy gas because the flame front travels extremely fast and will pass right through 99% of the flame arresters out there
your best bet is a good "Bubbler"

...
more to come as better ideas and info comes in!

There is another device that has came out in the last month or so called a Explosive pressure disipator made by HOGG.com if I remember right...
its simply a stopper held over a sizeable hole with a spring holding the seal...
when a flash back occurs the spring alows the stopper to open and vent to the outside and keeps the container from blowing up... a very ingenious device, simple and effective
I will endevor to post some pics of it here soon, their simple to make and cheep as well.
or just buy them from Hogg as they are not trying to double their money on them and are reasonably priced !

I have been using a cigerate filter for a anti flashback device and it has worked 100% every time.  My second design only produced like 1 lp 6min and I made a mini torch with it using the cig. filter.  I read you need at least 1lpm but that isnt the case.  I just put cig. filter in the 1/4" line near the torch tip.  My tip is the inflating ball needle design.  With that installed I could fine tune the torch tip diameter by pinching it off or opening it untile it had the best results.  If I opened it to much it would flashback but no big deal.  Before the filter I would have to search for the rubber stoppers I put in the bubbler.  Put them back in.  Try again.  Bang.  Search again....  I finally ended up putting the stoppers in to hard and the lid cracked.  Thats when I found out about the cig. filter.  I still have the bubbler in line but I recommend the cig. filter as a must.

Hay Neet ! thanks Larry for the tip ( no pun intended!... tip of the cigarette...get it ?)
any way I am the one that said 1 to 2LPM is needed ...and I am happy to see someone proved otherwize ! KOOL that means you can have even a smaller flame !
... weird though... the flame on my little torch with the super tiny hole was barely 1/2" to 3/4" long and orange as it could be... not a very big flame at all...
so with less gas I'ed think it'ed be even smaller !  how big was the flame useing the ball-inflater needle ?... that small hole is about the size of the hole in the end of my torch
but the inflator needle has 2 holes !   I guess you snipped off the end and then messed about with opening up the crimped off hole to get the size just right eh ?
.... I'll have to try that cig-filter in the line to stop the flash back thank you....
hunting for those pop off caps can be a pain some times .... tie a string to it ! HAHAHAHA

found one of mine stuck in a beam in my garage ceiling, back when I used a 1" ID bubbler, it was a boat drain plug.

Here is my youtube vid. of the mini torch.  This is with the my second gen. that only produce like 1 lp 6min.  When you watch it I open up the needle valve with the pliers when it is still lit.  You here a pop right there from the flash back.  I then try to light it while its still open showing the cig filter works.  You can here the pops. Smiley  If you look really closely you can see the flash go to the filter.  The flame is near invisible at the tip.

Most welding supplies sell inline ck valves for hydrogen. kind of spendy and takes a few PSI to open.might be something to think about.         I do whatever the little voices tell me!
