Are you making bio Diesel ?

I read something very disturbing today... so I went to the CALIFORNIA State site and looked up fuel taxes...
 According to the state of California if you make your own Bio-Diesel or veggi oil and put it in your car  you have to pay a TAX on it... it is considered Diesel fuel and is considered TAXABLE at .18cents a gallon !.... if you plan to or are making your own Bio-Diesel, you better check out the state laws for the state you live in !  other wise they will get you for unpaid taxes and hang your bottom !
... they didn't have a thing about Hybred cars that I saw... or Hydroxy gas being used as a suppliment
...but that is SO FAR ! You know those dirty buggers will tax anything they can so as soon as they figure out a way they will tax us for using one !
...What lead me to that discovery was a Woodgas site that a fella has been using his f-250 ford to burn woodgas and Gasoline in... he got a computer chip burner and some fancy thing that let him adjust his fuel injected truck to run in Duel fuel mode... (quite impressive actually!)...he said in Nebraska he is safe so far , because he is using DUEL FUEL, if he had been running 100% woodgas (which he can) he would be subject to a $1000.00 fine and taxes on the wood he used as a fuel!
... another reason to go DUEL FUEL for my truck I see!

this is way beyond REASON, there is no reason to TAX people just because you CAN !
But that's what they have been doing sense I was a Kid, and they certainly arn't going to stop now... after all, they say the taxes are for the ROADS !...everyone wants good roads right ? so lets tax ANY FUEL used on vehicles...
....the only saving grace is that California hasn't got around to that yet... and I don't think they have any provisions for Hybred cars YET.... but you can bet they WILL SHORTLY !

so if your making your own Bio-Diesel, Keep real good records, you may indeed need them.
 the fella I was reading about had a supprise visit from the Nebraska State Tax officials and checked out his truck,...and the only thing that saved him was the fact that his truck was DUEL FUEL....
if it had been 100% wood gas they would have got him.
....
its a sad state of affairs when you work your butt off to save yourself money and find out that the STATE will tax you on it anyway !

according to California "YOU HAVE TO REPORT IT", and get a liscnses to make your own Bio-diesel...
and you have to pay Taxes on the Bio Diesel you Make and use... if you Sell it you have to collect .18 Cents per gallon.... (the licenses allows you to sell it BTW) .
and there is of course a fee for the licenses renewal and you have to do your taxes with an additional form about how many gallons you made and pay your tax at that time.
 Tax Time you can sign up for , yearly bi-yearly or quarterly.

 What incentives are they giving the people to make their own Bio-Diesel ? instead they TAX them !

Perhaps there is a reason for the tax. California is almost impoverished as a state, so they need to draw all the funds they can. There is a reason, and it will no doubt lighten up after the downturn in the economy goes away.

Not very many taxes of any kind ever get "lightened" up, especially in California. If I ran my check book like these states run their budgets I would have gone under long ago.

You know...I bet if the general public Knew about that tax on Bio-Diesel in this state  there would be such a fuss that they'd take it off !
....but then again, the public screamed loud and long against the motorcycle helmet law too but they kept it anyway....

 As I told My Daughter, its simply a Money farm.... they found a way to collect a bunch more money and you'd play heck ever "Repealing the tax"... and whats worse...More is to come !
 go ahead buy your Hy bred Gas/electric Vehicle for the Horrendous prices they want for them...they will wind up adding a "SPECIAL TAX on the amount of electricity that you use to re charge your car.... I wouldn't be supprized if they make you have to install a special electric meter so they can get an accurate tax number !!!!( that or they will estimate the tax... which is better for them!)

this society we live in is so far out of the peoples control its not even funny.... it used to be the government For the people, now its the people FOR the government....if you doubt that statement then your not living in the real world anyway ! LOL !  the results of our "Government "are all around us each day, in the RESTRICTIONS that are imposed upon its people. we lost our Freedom many years ago!

 No I don't have a better method... I wish I did, I've been trying to figure out where the USA went wrong so many years ago that lead to such a screwed up Government... all I know is that my grate grandpa would've loaded his gun and hunted down the fella that signed that law into action, and rightly so !... but now it would do no good at all...all that would come of it is more laws and another idiot would take his place... ya just can't win !

Perhaps its just that kind of Complacency that allows these Dorks to pass laws that we don't need or want... I suppose if 9,000 people marched on the state capital demanding that they take off the tax they would "Consider it"....but its only one example of the Hundreds of thousands of laws and Taxes that shouldn't be there...Already the state has VOLUMES of books describeing the verious Laws it has in effect...you name it there is a Law against it !   why ? because Good well meaning people are really Stupid when it comes to LAWS.... the o'l saying "there should be a Law" was taken Litterally
...and now that we have all those laws you can't get rid of them...
I think every 50 years the laws in the USA should be revoked and new ones put into their place...
that would make those governers Work for their livings and senitors concentrate on what the people actually want not their next running partner.
...that way My Kid wouldn't have to live with antiquated Laws ,and my Kids Kid would have the same
but it will never happen because "they like it the way it is" ...

I think that some control on the government's side is almost required. We cannot anytime soon live in an athenian democracy. it's what we get, the government, and it honestly keeps us safe from invasion. So I think we should live with it.

but I don't know about the rest of the people out there, I my self would like less taxes, more money and fewer neighbors to bother me ! I am SICK of being told I can't do that by the people around me weather its the government or who ever... I just want left alone !

My understanding was that in the USA you could make around 2000 gallon per year before you had to pay tax;  if it was for your own use. Maye be wrong.

What I got from reading the Cal state info. that ANY making of Bio-Diesel or Pure veggie oil. and you are subject to the tax.... 2000 gal then the tax would apply would be reasonable...you don't expect the law makers to be reasonable do ya ? ... especially here in California ! LOL

with beer or wine I think its 200 gallons, that you can make without any problem, its considered a hobby... but I am not sure if that law varies from state to state as well.... probably so !

 the laws of this country have come to the point that there are so many laws out there that you have no idea that what your doing is LEGAL or not !... what used to be legal 50 years ago when I was a Kid
has no bearing on today ! and that's a sad state of affairs indeed.

when the state tells you you cannot work on your own car its hand writing on the wall ! and a small pre-view of whats to come ... and that has been true here in California... the only reason they didn't completely Outlaw the "working on your own vehicle" was the fact that they couldn't stop people from doing it... so they settled for the next best thing and that is a smog test and the fact that the guy giving the Smog test is subject to a Huge fine if he passes ANYTHING that is not to factory specifications... Hense you cannot work on your own car, even if you can make it far better than the factory specifications as far as the emitions are concerned...
 I know this because I asked the guy that owns the shop that I have been taking my cars to for the last 10 years for the smog test. and he doesn't believe the Hydroxy system works either, and I said what if I put one on my truck and came in here and proved to you that it emitts less politants ? he said I would love to see it Bob but I could NOT pass you ! PERIOD ! because it would be considered "MODIFIED" and I can't pass ANYTHING that has been Modified!
 I said that just plane STUPID ! He said tell me about it ! "a Kid Hops up his car, sinks thousands of dollars into the engine making it realy a high horse power car and I can't pass it even if it gets the same readings as the stock version !.... the only car you can safely HOP UP now is the PRE-SMOG cars of the early 1970's or earlier.... he said "if it has a smog pump on it leave it STOCK!" 
  How all the Hopped up cars owned by Kids are getting their Licenses renewed is beyond me !  they must all know a way around the law...
 I have re-built all my cars at one time or another, but I don't dare tell the state ! they may not Renew my licenses on the car.

I think you just have to have the papers going with the parts

yah I know.... I'm "stretching it a bit" with my Rant LOL....
there are legal carburetors, legal distributors, and even higher compression pistons that you can actually install  other than STOCK.... they just push the Legal Limit to the max is all...
so they are not really HIGH performance stuff, just a bit better than stock in most cases.
but to get 500hp out of your 427 chevi your not going to be legal in this state....
that is why the NOX systems have been selling so well as of the past 10 or so years in California...
its quick and easy to remove for the smog test and no one is the wiser ! heheheheh

its a crying shame too because My friend "Walt" down in Fla. who had a Chevi Elcamino with a huge engine in it , hit upon something that I think realy holds true. his engine was built and blue-printed and dino tested and it put out 500hp on the dyno. yet he consistantly got 40mpg with it more if he kept his foot out of it( which he never did!) he said its because the engine isn't working at all
moving that light El Camino around... and out of 500hp he's right.... the max he'd use is about 50 to 85hp and thats doing 75 on the freeway ! the more hp you have the OLD school says the more gasoline you'll suck up... but it was just the oppisit with him... the engine was so much more efficient by the time he got through with it it was unreal !.... he ran a tow truck in Panama city FLA. and the engine blew in his truck, so he had to swap engines, I went over to help him and he already had the job done !   anyway in the Wrecker that weighed 10,000lbs his gas mileage dropped to about 25mpg.... IN A TOW TRUCK ! they normally get about 5 to 7mpg !
that's the same wrecker that Saved my butt when my engine blew because I put on a new oil filter in the bus and it all leaked out and burned up the engine about 5 miles from what used to be home...( we were moving back to Ca. at the time).... the bus had everything I owned in it and that had to be at least 8 tons of stuff... that little tow truck hooked on to my big  over loaded 36 passenger school bus and towed it to his house... where he found and replaced the engine for us at a minimum cost to us.... he saved our bacon that's for sure !  so I walked him through the bus and said what would you like ?  and got rid of 1/2 my stuff and he was happy and so was I !
....we talked at length about engines and engine theory and I admit some of his ideas were far out in left field, but over the years I have learned that 90% of what he said is right....
We talked about Fuel Vaporization allot too, he was purdy sure it wouldn't work and I was positive it would... by the time we finally got out of there he was going to try to make a vaporizer and give it a shot.... dunno if he ever did or not....
... this was 35 years ago at least...

His Hopped up car got better Mileage than even the Forign cars of the time... and if a Head strong O'l Back woods guy Like Walt could do that,  you know the Billions of bucks the automotive industry has to spend  could do it.... in fact they would have stumbled upon it by shear ODDS by now ...IF they were Looking for it! but their not, contrary to the information they feed us ...
we can thank the automotive powers that be for MOST of the California Legislature concerning cars
that's WHY the laws are so screwed up ! for some reason our State government thinks the Automotive industry can do no wrong.... I do wish someone would investigate the Automotive industry and see that All of them are holding big shares in the oil industry.... and then not just say "ok so what"... but get them for "conflict of interest!" its in their best interest for cars to get BAD gas mileage.... when will that become evident to the law makers ?
