Sense a few of ya asked about these monsters I figured I'ed show ya my toys hehehehe .... A valveless Pulse-jet is simply a Pluse jet without any reed valves in it at all and the acoustics are actually what make it work... there are no moving parts its simply a tube but it is configured in such a way as to allow one exhost pipe to suck in after the mixture explodes... this is because the Exhost pipe is much longer than the intake/exhost pipe... so as the hot gasses travel down the longer pipe the pressure inside is equilized and actually reverses and begins to suck a small amount from the shorter pipe... this alows a fresh charge of gas/air into the combustion chamber and it explodes again... repeteing the cycle ... when running the silly things sound like a very large chainsaw engine.... ...below is a pic of my biggest Valveless PJ... it is so extreamily LOUD that it viberated the fabric in my shirt, rattled the windows of the house and was so loud it actually Hurt... not in my ear pluged ears but all over.... and this one is only a 3" PJ.... a 6" will desolve a concrete wall with the sound alone... and I believe it ! it runs on Propane and uses about 2 gal per hr in fuel ... Bob....

its also Nice to know that a well built Valveless PJ will sustain itself after the spark has been turned off and is throttle-able...which all of my PJ's are except the one in the photo as it doesn't like to take changes in throttle but it does to some extent.... this PJ here is my best running one , fully throttleable, and self sustaining the pic on the right is my smallest PJ and runs as well as the other one. the trick I found was the length of the exhost pipe... setting it up so I can adjust the length of the exhost pipe to find the "sweet spot" works best...then weld it up. .... the question is ...WHY ? well their loads of fun to mess with and a Kick to finally get working properly. they can be used as heaters but only put out about 2lbs of thrust from my biggest PJ !.... so that makes them great Noise makers and not much else ! HEHEHEHE I built my 3" with the purpose of powering my Gyro's Rotor up to flight speed... however with the horrendous Noise one puts out I decided that 2 of them whirling around my head is not what I want to do ! LOL so the task became can I build one or not... and I guess I can... <GRIN> I made a ram jet engine as well but never got it to run... no matter what I tried to my dismay ! ... so they sit and collect rust now and are available to waste Propane should I get the urge to loose more of my hearing ! HAHAHAHA ... I used a old magneto powered by my drill on the bench to fire the spark plugs... a electric oven ignition unit is prefured by those that play with these all the time. but I used what I had on hand and only had to buy the propane! .... they are Amuseing to say the least... ... Tink... definately NOT... organic tishue is far to resiliant for anything but super High velosity sound waves.... with extream high amplitude.... You could however Desolve your neighbors House fairly easy if you put a 6" PJ in their basement ! LOL ... I am a very prolific Tinkier.... its what I like to do ! too bad it doesn't pay very well however ! hehehhe ...
Tink have you ever given any thought to a solar still ? a 55gal drum with a bunch of mirrors focused on it to make your heat for the winter time ? ... it never ceases to amaze me how Hot the water gets in a garden hose that has laid in the sun for a few hours... it will scald you easy...so why not do that on purpose and cycle water through a wall of 55gal drums and then at night pump the hot water to car radiators for heat ? ....yah I'll do anything to keep from splitting wood ! HAHAHAH ... Bob.......

Bob, I tried to open the attachment and got a page full of very strange text. When I tried to 'reply' it to you for explanation I got a message saying that it contained 'black-listed' URLs. I'll try and email it to you. Not quite sure what it all means, but it doesn't look like a ram jet to me. Manta

Bob, Tink.
Something strange going on.
If I single click on any of Bob's attachments (on this thread) I get the usual 'do you want to open/save this file dialogue box. So far so good.
If I select 'open' it won't open the file. If I select 'save' it saves the file, but then won't open the saved file. Tells me it is corrupt or an incompatible format. I don't have trouble with other *.jpg files opening.
But try this. double click on the paperclip. Let me know what happens.

Tink,
I can't even get the image.
Do you get the text if you double click the attachment ?
I'll email the text to you. Keep it in it's text format as I don't now what it is, but am very worried about it as it seems to be updating itself every time it is accessed.
Bob, did you get my email ?
If so, what do you and Ferel make of it.
Tink, Just worked out what you mean by 'clicking on the image'. I aren't getting an image. Only a 'paperclip' attachment icon and the filename 'BobzPJ 006.jpg' . It's when I click on this that the problems begin.
Sorry to be going on about this, but it has me worried.

Bob, p.s. It does it on all three of the attachments. It looks like some kind of virus. I've hit my machine with all the bug-killers at my disposal, but they all report no problems. Going to try it from work tomorrow.

I see what you guys are fussing at NOW.... I got Feral in here and she said something is amiss... looks like someone added a advertisement to it or some links or something... soon as she can get on the net with her machine she'll fix it.... My computer here doesn't have the required program on it or she'd do it now...... I don't think its anything to worry about, just Links BS that someone thinks their being clever and attaching them to the pictures... One click on the picture does still work however (makes it biger...be patient, its slow sometimes!) but if you try to DL the pic and save it you get something else completely...a list of links... strangely enough ! ...if I find out who did that I'll ban them from the site ! idiots ! ... thanks for letting me know ... Bob.......
