I emailed the People in Power about modifying my truck on browns gas
here is what they said...<GRIN> Just passing the buck.
.......
Bob,
The addition of a browns gas producer does modify the existing
emissions system on vehicles and as such it is illegal to install without
ARB approval. I suggest you contact ARB for additional information.

Subject: Modified Vehicle ?

Hello.
I am currently in the proccess of modifying my car to run on a
combonation of gasoline and Browns gas, this is reported to reduce the
emitions to almost Zero in all areas... However according to the Smog
Inspection guy where I took my car last time (before the modification)
he told me if I Modified the car he cannot pass it....PERIOD...
regardless of the emitions ! this seams daft!
sense we are trying to keep emitions down arn't we ?
in the near future I plan to run my truck on 100% hydroxy gas(browns
gas) and use no gasoline at all... am I going to have truble lisensing
it or getting it to pass the smog test regardless of the emitions ?
because it will not be poluteing at all!
...
I have a web site that is devoted to improveing emitions for all and
reduceing our dependancy on forign oil... but if I can't liscnses my car
after I modify it (for what ever reason) the whole idea is a Joke !
I currently achieve 40mpg out of my toyota pickup thats up from 22mpg
running on gasoline alone....(just so you know)
...
I desided rather than complain about the laws <grin> that I'ed find out
from you exactly where we stand... can we modify the car and improve out
milage and still get the car liscnses next year ?
....
thank you for your help
Bob....
