Living in Michigan here I came across a fellow who through the "grape vine" knew of GM's development of a Corvette that ran on straight Hydrogen. He stated the Corvette had so much power it broke traction when you were not trying and ran good. But GM didn't go further with the straight hydro powered car because of safety issues. Like the car turning into a crater!? If something went wrong?! Remember Hydrogen in a compressed tank is a potential B*MB! And I guess that's what scared off GM from the prospect of producing a hydrogen powered car.
Again, I don't know how true this is but would not be surprised if it did happen.
Has anyone heard of this?
