Hi All,
Im working with my dumb little theory and I would love it if you all could take Ohm readings of your working cells.
In solution/electrolyte if you would.

Thanks.

On my 25 plate series it was open.

No resistance at all? You took a reading from the two mounting points of the cell where the terminals connected?
Remember I'm trying to get readings from cells that are actually in their electrolyte.

But thanks! Wink
If this pans out I will spill it soon...otherwise it will be another of my odd theories that slowly disappears...

It is a 6 cell series hooked up and running in the car. I even checked one plate to the one next to it. The meter was on auto ranging that might make a difference if your looking for a real low reading.

With it just setting there it reads 18 ohms.  I also checked the milivolts .208.

Yeah, Im expecting Ohm ratings to be in the single digits for a few types of cells. Thanks HT! You too CRB! Wink

Ironbear,

My test cell is two plates separated by about 1.5 millimeter.  I get 50 Ohm between the pins with both tap water and 10% KOH solution.

my latest test cell shows 2 volts on the voltage scale??? on ohms it shows no resistance with test leads polarized, when I switch the leads it shows .5 K Huh?

Randy,

Guess you are also measuring the residual voltage. I used an analogue meter and got a big kick from the needle until it discharged. I switched to Ohms and eventually it settled down.

if I remember right when I first installed the 3 Randy cells after adding the KOH
and getting ready for the LPM test the Ohms between the posts were 7ohms, 8 ohms and 12ohms
not nessirally in that order but one was a bit higher than the other 2
they all put out the exact same LPM individually. combined togather they put out Less than one cell did useing the same amprage

Excellent! This is what I need.

Keep it coming if you have it! And a big thanks to you all!
